Amendment Would Allow Multi-Year Utility Deals

Your tax money pays utility bills at more than 15,000 state buildings. A proposed constitution could make those buildings more energy and water efficient at no cost to taxpayers.

Right now, Georgia's constitution forbids the state from entering into multi-year agreements to finance energy and conservation projects. Amendment four would change that.

State leaders say conservation projects could drastically cut the $225 million the state pays every year for utility bills.
