In order to get an update on what’s new in the oncology field, a physician from Southwest Georgia might need to travel from one end of the country to the other.
That’s not the case this time.
The Phoebe Cancer Center will be host “Cancer Update 2010” from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday at Phoebe Northwest.
The presenters expected to be there include Dr. Stuart Goldsmith from Southwest Georgia Dermatology; Dr. J. Leonard Lichtenfeld, deputy chief medical officer with the American Cancer Society’s national office; Dr. Theresa Coleman, associate professor of medicine at the Medical College of Georgia Division of Genitourinary Oncology; Kyle Steenland from Emory School of Public Health; Dr. Joe Stubbs, an Albany internist and American College of Physicians president; Dr. Shailaja Sappati from the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital Carlton Breast Health Center; Dr. Ruth O’Regan from the Emory Winship Cancer Center; Dr. William Mendenhall, radiation oncology professor at the University of Florida-Shands Teaching Hospital, and Dr. Chirag Jani from the Phoebe Cancer Center.
