'Men at Work' at the Government Center May Save Lives

Nearly 300 men are expected to show up for “Men at Work,” an event that provides free health screenings for men employed by Albany, Dougherty County and Water, Gas & Light Commission.

This life-saving event will be held Wednesday, Sept. 29, from 10 a.m. to Noon at the Government Center. Men are invited to take advantage of the free screenings, including PSA, vision and blood pressure.

For the fifth consecutive year, Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital has partnered with the American Cancer Society, Phoebe Cancer Center, Phoebe Community Visions, Coalition of Wellness, 100 Black Men of Albany and Water, Gas & Light Commission to create awareness of men’s health issues and provide preventative health measures.

The Government Center is located at 222 Pine Ave. Free lunch will be provided.
