Homebuilder Confidence Rises in South

Confidence among the nation's homebuilders was unchanged from August to September, but those in the South were more optimistic about a recovery.

The National Association of Home Builders' monthly builder confidence index held steady at 13. Any reading below 50 indicates more builders view current conditions as poor.

The South region -- which includes Georgia -- was the only region to post an improvement in builder confidence, rising two points to 14.
