Workplace Deaths Down 47%

Georgia saw a 47 percent decline in deaths in the workplace in 2009, due in part to the higher unemployment level, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics' National Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries published Thursday.
There were 96 workplace fatalities in the Peach State in 2009, compared with 182 in 2008.
