Cutliff Settlement Rejected

The Albany City Commission voted 6-1 Tuesday to reject a proposal with a local nonprofit development group and forge ahead with an independent review of the matter by the district attorney.

Rejecting the proposal could mean that the issue could be headed for court, City Attorney Nathan Davis said.

Following discussion and two failed attempts at adopting alternate resolutions, the commission adopted a motion offered by Commissioner Roger Marietta rejecting the proposed settlement while asking Mayor Willie Adams to author a letter to District Attorney Greg Edwards to review the project in a fact-finding mission and report back to the commission.
