Community Capital Bancshares, Inc. and its subsidiary AB&T National Bank are pleased to announce an addition to their management team.  On August 2, 2010, Thomas Clifton, Jr. was named Senior Vice President and Manager of the Trust Division.

Tommy brings a wealth of trust and legal experience to AB&T.  Tommy has built an entire career in Trust, which began in 1968.  For the past 16 years, he has been in the Albany area – four years at First State Bank and 12 years at Regions Bank where he was Senior Vice President and Area Trust Manager. Until his recent retirement from Regions Bank, Tommy led the department and was responsible for management and administration of trusts and estates throughout South Georgia.

In addition to being an experienced trust officer and manager, Tommy is also an attorney. “His knowledge and the relationships he has with clients and local attorneys will be invaluable to us as we seek to enhance our trust presence in this market,” stated Luke Flatt, president and CEO.

Tommy has been a member of the Georgia State Bar since 1973.  He is currently a member of Leesburg United Methodist Church, a former Rotarian, as well as a former member of the Georgia Legislature, where he served as a State Representative.

“We are so fortunate to add such outstanding and proven talent to our management team,” commented Luke Flatt. He went on to say, “Tommy will be joining Greg Mattox and Evanne Saunders in our trust department. Bringing him onto our team not only enhances our trust department but further confirms our commitment to becoming the Gold Standard for community banking in every aspect of our business. This important addition will make AB&T the ‘go-to’ trust department for area citizens in need of trust services.”

AB&T opened its doors in 1999, focusing on providing customers local decision-making and exceptional quality service. It has grown to serve offices in Albany, GA as well as branches in Lee County, GA; Dothan, AL; and Auburn, AL. The bank’s local board of directors is made up of longtime community members committed to keeping this independent banking option thriving. AB&T is a member of the FDIC and is an Equal Housing Lender. For more information, visit www.abtgold.com.
