Albany Technical College was awarded a 2011 Kia Sorento by Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, Inc. (KMMG) to be used for training purposes for the College’s automotive technology programs. On Wednesday, August 25, at 2pm, ATC will hold a local presentation of the vehicle in front of the Kirkland Administration Building. Members of the local Kia Autosports of Albany will be in attendance to participate in the presentation.
The vehicle was manufactured by KMMG’s facility in West Point, GA. A special event was held on July 28 at the Kia Georgia Training Center, which will included a special presentation of the Sorento by KMMG executives to Dr. Anthony Parker, President of Albany Technical College. Albany Technical College was only one of just a few of the technical colleges with the Technical College System of Georgia to receive the Kia donation. Albany Tech was chosen due to the size of enrollment in our degree and diploma automotive technology programs.
“This is a great honor for Albany Tech and the Technical College System of Georgia, and it demonstrates the value Kia places on its relationship with Quick Start and our system,” said Ron Jackson, Commissioner of the Technical College System of Georgia.
