Summer Jobs for Teens Down 38 Percent

Teenage workers are finding significantly fewer summer jobs this year, according to placement firm Challenger Gray & Christmas.

Its report on employment among 16- to 19-year-olds grew by 497,000 jobs in June, citing Labor Department figures, down 29 percent from June of last year, and the lowest mid-summer job growth for that age group since 1951.
