Thursday, July 22nd, 2010
City Manager Alfred Lott has presented a letter of resignation to Mayor Willie Adams today. He proposes leaving his job on July 30, 2011.
Lott told staff of his intentions at a meeting at City Hall today.
The Albany City Commission conducted a closed meeting Tuesday and it was speculated that Lott's status with the city was a topic of discussion. Lott was in the closed session for part of the meeting.
In an interview with the Albany Herald Wednesday afternoon, Lott said that speculation surrounding his future in the media has largely been incorrect and that he is leaving of his own free will.
