SunTrust nation’s 10th largest bank

SunTrust Banks Inc. moved down a spot and Synovus Financial Corp. moved up a spot on the list of the nation’s 50 largest banks and thrifts, according to a first quarter 2010 survey by SNL Financial.
Atlanta-based SunTrust (NYSE: DAL) went from ninth largest in the fourth quarter of 2009 to 10th largest in the first quarter of 2010. The bank had $171.8 billion in assets and $118.7 billion in deposits. (read more at Atlanta Business Chronicle)
