Phoebe Putney Health System and Cardiology Associates of Albany have announced the assimilation and acquisition of the Cardiology practice, effective Aug. 1.

The veteran cardiology practice, which has seven cardiologists and three mid-level providers and staff, has provided care to patients in this region for 28 years.

“We’re excited about this new formal partnership because it creates additional opportunity to build a comprehensive, world-class cardiac program for the citizens of this region,” said Joel Wernick, Phoebe president/CEO. “Cardiology Associates has been a part of our program, caring for patients in our hospital for a long time and we look forward to welcoming them as a part of the Phoebe Physician Group.”
