Georgia Power OK with terms of $8.3 billion loan

Georgia Power agreed to loan terms with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to build two nuclear reactors at Plant Vogtle outside of Augusta.
The federal government in February announced $8.3 billion in loan guarantees for the project. It has been more than 30 years since the last nuclear reactor was built in the United States, and Vogtle was the first planned nuclear project to receive the pledge of conditional loan guarantees by the federal government.
