NYSE, Nasdaq cooperate to probe Thursday's crash

The two biggest U.S. stock exchange operators said Sunday they are working together to help regulators determine the factors behind Thursday's breathtaking swings in stock prices.

After trading barbs Friday, NYSE Euronext (NYX 29.29, -0.58, -1.94%) and Nasdaq OMX Group Inc. (NDAQ 19.10, -1.05, -5.21%) issued a joint statement Sunday committing to collaboration as exchanges, regulators, lawmakers and investors continue to seek answers for the dramatic market volatility of Thursday.
