Mortgage rates drop sharply

Mortgage rates fell sharply this week, as instability in financial markets overseas lowered borrowing costs, according to Freddie Mac.

Its weekly rate report says the average rate on a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage fell to 4.78 percent in the week ending May 27, down from 4.84 percent last week. (read more at Atlanta Business Chronicle)
