With Georgia being ranked number seven in the nation for identity theft by the Federal Trade Commission, more Georgia businesses and residents are shredding confidential documents before trashing. HeritageBank of the South and ShredEX are partnering to bring a FREE shred day for Southwest Georgia. Bring all confidential documents such as last year’s tax records to be shredded and recycled. The 2010 Community Shred-A-Thon is FREE to the public and will be held Saturday, April 24th from 9AM to 12PM in the parking lot of HeritageBank’s main office located at 721 North Westover Boulevard. According to HeritageBank Marketing Director, Mary Beth Hobby, “This will be the third time we’ve partnered with ShredEx for a community shred day. At our last event, we shred 10,500 lbs of paper. Such an overwhelming response from the community shows that individuals are truly concerned with keeping their identity safe. Our partnership with ShredEx offers a much needed service in our area.” The mission of ShredEX® is to be the PREMIER PROVIDER of confidential document destruction services by offering a high-level chain of security and increasing awareness to the perils of unsecured document management. ShredEX is currently the only Georgia based company with the ability to service the entire state. For a complete list of shredable items, visit www.shredex.org.
