The Albany Area Chamber of Commerce is delighted to extend an invitation to the community for the 2024 MLK Dinner, a vibrant celebration of unity inspired by the ideals of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The event, presented by Colony Bank, is co-hosted by the Albany Area Chamber Foundation and Albany State University in collaboration with the King Day Celebration Committee.

This year's event, scheduled for January 11, 2024, at the Albany State University West Campus Student Center (upstairs), promises an inspiring evening filled with meaningful moments. The reception kicks off at 6:00 p.m., with the musical stylings of FLEX ABY’s very own student entrepreneur, Michael Anderson, followed by the exciting program at 7:00 p.m.

Keynote speaker Rodney D. Bullard, CEO of The Same House, a public benefit corporation, brings a wealth of experience from his role as Vice President of Global Corporate Social Responsibility at Chick-fil-A, Inc. His impactful contributions to corporate social responsibility, community engagement, and philanthropy have touched the lives of over 30 million people annually.

The program includes the display of the Renaissance Connection’s Femi Anderson Memorial Children of the Dream Art Contest Winners from Dougherty County Schools. Additionally, two outstanding Dougherty County High School students will be awarded $1000 scholarships each to Albany State University, courtesy of the Albany Area Chamber Foundation’s partnership with Albany State University.

Colony Bank, the event’s premier sponsor, reinforces its commitment to community empowerment by awarding two diverse small businesses with a year-long membership to the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce, providing a gateway to opportunities and benefits.

Guests will also be treated to a musical presentation by students from the Dougherty Comprehensive High School Chorus, adding a delightful touch to the evening.

"The Albany Area Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to partner with Albany State University and the King Day Celebration Committee to host this incredible event, bringing our community together to celebrate the city we love and honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.," said Bàrbara Rivera Holmes, President and CEO of the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce and the Albany Area Chamber Foundation. “We encourage individuals and businesses alike to join us for an evening of inspiration, recognition, and community building."
