U.S. Senator David Perdue (R-GA) toured Commodore Conyers College & Career (4C) Academy and got an up-close look at the school’s innovative job training and career development programs.

During the visit, Senator Perdue met with students and faculty, explored the school’s new robotics lab, and discussed workforce development initiatives with the 4C Academy Board of Directors.

“With over seven million job openings in America today, we have an urgent need for skilled workers. The 4C Academy is developing a pipeline of qualified technicians and engineers to support our growing economy. In addition, students are learning problem-solving and critical-thinking skills that will carry them far beyond the classroom,” said Senator Perdue, a former Chairman of the National Commission on Literacy and Workforce Development. “I was especially moved by the students I met with today. Their optimism and enthusiasm impressed me beyond measure, and you can tell they all have bright futures ahead. Chris Hatcher and the faculty and staff at 4C Academy are doing outstanding work, and I appreciate their commitment to helping students succeed.”

The 4C Academy is a specialized charter school serving Dougherty, Terrell, Baker, and Calhoun counties. Through partnerships with Albany State University and Albany Technical College, dually enrolled students earn high school and college credits in a hands-on learning environment. The school offers an array of pathway opportunities, including aviation, nursing and healthcare sciences, business management, and engineering.
