Staff Report From Albany CEO

Thursday, August 23rd, 2018

Phoebe is excited to announce the development of the new Center for Learning and Innovation.

The Center, a joint initiative between Human Resources and Nursing services, will focus on creating strong programs for organizational and talent development, strengthening academic partnerships, and implementing best practices in education. The Center will offer training and career development opportunities for the health system.

“The concept and need for the program evolved out of a desire to develop and build on in-house training and leadership programs utilizing internal expertise. A committee of dedicated members has been meeting to develop the Center’s mission and vision over the last nine months,” said Dr. Evelyn Olenick, Senior Vice President & Chief Nursing Officer at Phoebe.

Dr. Tracy Suber will serve as the Assistant Vice President of the Center for Learning and Innovation. She will work alongside a dedicated team to develop and implement the strategic plan.

Dr. Suber received her doctorate degree in Education with a focus in Leadership from Valdosta State University in May. Prior to her tenure at Phoebe, she served as Assistant Dean of Nursing at Darton State College, where she was instrumental in development of their RN to BSN program.

“I am thrilled to be leading these efforts with a dynamic team passionate about education. This Center will be an opportunity to bridge existing gaps between academia and practice, and work collaboratively to address the needs of the workforce. In addition, the Center will largely focus on developing in-house talent through professional development and focused attention to existing leadership programs.”
