SB&T Begins Transition to Synovus Branding

Staff Report From Albany CEO

Tuesday, April 10th, 2018

SB&T begins transitioning to the Synovus brand name. Signage and other legacy branding at all SB&T branches will be updated with Synovus branding by the end of April. SB&T is one of 26 non-Synovus branded bank divisions to complete the footprint-wide brand transition, which will conclude in June 2018.

“We’ve been part of Synovus for nearly 40 years, and we’re proud of our reputation as a community-based and customer-focused bank in Dougherty County, Lee County, and everywhere we operate,” said Pam Simmons, Synovus market executive for Albany. “Adopting the Synovus name while maintaining our local, relationship-centered delivery model will increase awareness of our regional presence, our financial capabilities, and our ability to meet the needs of customers and prospects.”

SB&T was founded in 1970 as Security Bank and Trust and acquired in 1979 by CB&T Bancshares, which was re-branded Synovus in 1989. The SB&T acquisition was among more than 60 that would make Synovus Georgia’s second largest bank, with $31 billion in assets and a presence in five Southeastern states.

SB&T’s branches are located at 2102 East Oglethorpe Boulevard and 2819 Old Dawson Road in Albany and 1531 U.S. Highway 19 and 1521 U.S. Highway 82 West in Leesburg.  The bank also operates a branch in Americus.
