Staff Report From Albany CEO

Monday, March 12th, 2018

Nominations are now open for the Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission’s annual industry awards, part of Albany-Dougherty Industry Celebration Week. Industry week, now in its ninth year, is a week-long celebration of the community’s existing industries.

The ADEDC recognizes industries in four categories: global commerce, economic impact, excellence in innovation and corporate community citizenship. The awards will be presented Wednesday April 4 during the Industry Celebration and Awards luncheon, held in partnership with the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce at the Hilton Garden Inn beginning at 11:30 a.m.

“Existing industry is a major component of a thriving economy, and in Albany-Dougherty County, we’re fortunate to have a broad base of industry that sees the benefits of doing business here,” says Justin Strickland, president of the Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission. “Our companies’ locations in Albany-Dougherty County contributes to their success as part of a larger corporate network, as well as our success as a community. The annual Industry Celebration Week and Awards serve as an
opportunity to celebrate the relationships that have spurred on long-standing prosperity throughout the years.”

Industry Celebration Week is one of many ways the ADEDC works to promote and highlight local industries, and will echo the “#MadeInAlbanyGA” campaign, which features products produced by local manufacturers.  Industries located in Albany-Dougherty County and those who wish to nominate them are encouraged to complete and return the fillable online nomination form by the March 23 deadline.
