The Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission today continued the 2016-2017 “#MadeInAlbanyGA” campaign with chemical manufacturer, SASCO Chemical.  SASCO specializes in the production of anti-tack, wood release, industrial and bio-medical chemicals. SASCO is part of Polymer Solutions Group LLC, which specializes in producing polymer additives that enhance rubber compound processing and performance.

“SASCO has been a leading innovator in the industrial-use chemical market since its inception in 1948,” said ADEDC President Justin Strickland. “SASCO has continued to thrive in Albany for nearly 70 years, and today is the top supplier of anti-tack products to the tire industry.”

Anti-tack agents, used in tire manufacturing to preserve and extend rubber quality, are among SASCO’s leading products. SASCO, along with its sister companies, provide these performance enhancing products to the majority of the world’s tire manufacturers.

Pam McDonald, SASCO Chemical general manager says the company is strategically positioned in Albany due to its accessibility to major tire manufacturers in the southeastern US.

“Having our manufacturing operations in Albany provides us easy access to our customers in the southeast, which allows for better service and lower transportation costs,” McDonald said.

SASCO’s operations are entirely Georgia-based, with a research and development facility located in Macon, in addition to its two manufacturing facilities in Albany.
