The Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission launched a new phase of its “#MadeInAlbanyGA” campaign featuring MillerCoors

With a workforce of more than 550, Albany’s MillerCoors brewery is the third largest in the company’s network in terms of employment. The plant has the capacity to brew up to 10 million barrels of beer per year.

"Albany's location atop the Floridan Aquifer, one of the world's most prolific water systems, has facilitated MillerCoors’ success in brewing beers, flavored malt beverages and ciders by providing access to a high-quality water source,” said Justin Strickland, president of the Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission.

Albany’s MillerCoors brewing site is fluid in operations with the ability to change product lines quickly in order to meet market needs.

The Albany site commonly brews staples such as Miller Lite, Coors Light, Icehouse, Miller High Life, Miller Genuine Draft, Steel Reserve, Keystone, Mickey’s, Milwaukee’s, Old English 800, and produces approximately half of all MillerCoors flavored malt beverage products, including Redd’s Apple Ales and Henry’s Hard Sodas.

Annually, the Albany brewery purchases more than $400 million in goods and services from Georgia-based companies and contributes $25 million in state and local taxes.  In April, the Albany-Dougherty EDC recognized this by presenting MillerCoors with its 2017 Economic Impact Award.
