Luke Flatt Installed as Board Member of the Georgia Bankers Association

James L. (Luke) Flatt, president and CEO of AB&T National Bank, Albany, has been elected by his peers to serve a two year term as an At Large member on the board of directors of the Georgia Bankers Association.
 
“I was delighted when Luke‘s colleagues in the state elected him to the board. He is a strong banker who will provide valuable leadership to the GBA as one of its directors,” said Rick Drews, GBA chairman and CEO of Century Bank of Georgia in Cartersville.
 
Flatt’s career began as a teller at Citizens Bank of Americus. He rose to the position of vice president and commercial lender, before he became a group vice president and division credit manager at The First National Bank of Atlanta in Americus. Flatt moved to First State Bank & Trust Company in Albany in 1986 and served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer before its acquisition by Regions Bank in 1998. Flatt joined the team at Regions as Group President for South Georgia after that transition, and he then became president and CEO for Community Capital Bancshares, Inc. and AB&T National Bank in Albany in 2009.
 
Flatt has a history of service to GBA, previously serving on the GBA Public Affairs Committee.
 
Flatt is a graduate of Auburn University and the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University where he was elected president of the class of 1982.
 
Active in the community, Flatt is a past chairman of the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce, the 2004 Imagine Albany Campaign, the Darton College Foundation, the American Cancer Society and the Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Southwest Georgia, Inc. Flatt is an honorary member of the Dougherty County Rotary Club and a member of past graduating classes of Leadership Albany and Leadership Georgia.
