The Albany Area Chamber of Commerce announced that A. West Enterprise was selected as one of the top 100 small businesses by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and selected as a 2016 DREAM BIG Blue Ribbon Award winner for its business success and contributions to America’s economic growth and vitality.
 
“Albany provides an ideal climate for innovative, growing and successful small businesses. We’re proud that A. West Enterprise calls Albany home and that it considers the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce a partner in its success,” said Bárbara Rivera Holmes, interim president and CEO of the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce, which nominated A. West for the DREAM BIG honor.
 
A. West Enterprise, which provides high-quality electrical service and construction to its customers, was recognized in 2013 as the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year. It employs about 60 people.
 
This year’s DREAM BIG winners were selected from a record number of applicants from across the country. The applicants were judged in four key categories: strategic planning, employee development, customer service, and community involvement.
 
“Last year we came in second for the Community of Excellence Award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and we were also in the top 100 Blue Ribbon Small Business in 2015,” said Eddie West, owner of A. West Enterprise. “This year we will be concentrating on being named one of the seven regional finalists, which will be announced on March 9. This will place us in the running for the DREAM BIG Small Business of the Year.”
 
All 100 Blue Ribbon Award Winners will be honored at the 12th annual America’s Small Business Summit, to be held June 13-15, in Washington, D.C.  During the summit, one finalist will be named the DREAM BIG Small Business of the Year and take home the $10,000 cash prize.
